Curious about composting but not sure where to start? This two-hour workshop is designed for people growing at home, on an allotment, or in a community garden who want to learn how to compost everyday food and garden waste on a domestic scale.
During the session, you’ll learn how composting works, why it is beneficial for soil health and sustainable growing, and what materials can and can’t go into a compost heap. We’ll explore a range of composting methods, including hot composting, cold composting, worm composting, bokashi and leaf mould, with guidance on how to choose the best system for your space, time and needs.
Through interactive activities, real-life examples and a chance to design a composting system for your own growing space, you’ll leave with the confidence to start composting at home or in your community garden.

Please note that the workshop will be largely held outdoors or in an unheated space. Please dress warmly!
